Ghostbusters 3 is officially a go, but this time there’s a groundbreaking new director on board…Ghostbuster fans, I hope you’re ready for this! Production on the long talked about Ghostbusters 3 is permanently plotted, and the cast and crew will start filming during the beginning of 2015, in New York, but this time there will be a groundbreaking new director and a new cast.
I’m cool with this. As long as it’s as excellent as the very underrated Extreme Ghostbusters cartoon, I’ll be pleased. As a matter of fact I hope the writers use it as a pattern as far as characters go. The new team was diverse and appealing.

Ghostbusters 1 and 2 director, Ivan Reitman, has officially resolute to step down after the recent passing of actor and friend, Harold Ramis who starred in both of the original iconic films. Reitman tells Deadline News, “It was such an incredible time in my life 30 years ago, and I felt that way on the second film [but] with Harold no longer with us I couldn’t see it.” Up until now, Reitman was working with writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnisky on finalizing a draft of the script, which we soon found out would have to go through another round of edits to write out Ramis’s plotted cameo.And although Reitman will be passing the directing torch to another courageous soul, he will still be very involved with the reboot, just this time as a producer.
